Travelers Championship
Swing into one of Hartford's signature yearly events when you make plans to follow the Travelers Championship, held every June. This is the northeast's stop on the PGA tour and features some of the best golfers in the world as well as the Celebrity Pro-Am and a family-friendly Fan Zone. Everything tees off at TPC River Highlands, which is 6,844 yards of exceptional golf for a par 70 course located in Cromwell, just 10 miles south of Hartford. Fans and followers of the game know how challenging this course is, as it features a challenging mix of long and short holes.

Connecticut Flower & Garden Show
It isn't uncommon to hear about garden shows. They seem to happen in nearly every city in the country. However, the one Connecticut Flower & Garden Show has built up a solid reputation as one of the most prestigious shows of its kind. Visitors are treated to the visual allure of several breathtaking gardens that are designed by some of Connecticut's most respected horticulturalists. The gardens are presented over 3 acres and include not only floral presentations but several exhibits that educate visitors about new gardening products and services. This popular festival is usually held every February.

Riverfest is an annual event that has been held in Hartford for the past 32 years. It is usually scheduled on or close to the 4th of July, and is one of the city's most identifiable and signature festivals. The breadth of the event is evidenced by the fact that it takes place at Mortensen Riverfront Plaza, Hartford and Founders Plaza, and Great River Park. Riverfest features free entertainment like live bands, musicians, clowns and other walk-about entertainers as well as kid's activities and more. A dazzling fireworks show is one of the event's many highlights.

Pipes in the Valley Celtic Festival
Celebrate tradition with a truly unique flair when you attend the Pipes in the Valley Celtic Festival held every September in the Riverfront. Enjoy the sounds of bagpipes, Celtic fiddling, Scottish drumming, step dancing and much more. Plus, there are several activities for the kids as well as Highland games and plenty of beer! The event is produced in tandem with the Olde Burnside Brewing Company. Come out and enjoy a day of high-spirited fun filled with world-class entertainment.

Caribbean & Jerk Festival
One of Hartford’s premier cultural events is the Caribbean and Jerk Festival. It has been held every August for the past seven years and features both the upper and lower areas of Mortensen Riverfront Plaza transformed into a Caribbean village. The whole family will enjoy the variety of music and dance performances as well as authentic Caribbean fare offered by more than 25 vendors. There is also a children's activity area, a Caribbean carnival, and salsa merengue lessons.

Samba Fest
The art of the samba is a powerful balance of rhythmic beauty and skilled movements. Every May, fans of both the samba in particular and Brazilian culture in general gather for the popular Samba Fest. The festival is co-produced by Trinity College and Riverfront Recapture. Fun family activities, food, live music and more are the hallmarks of this popular single-day annual event held in Hartford every May.
